The last word is the one of short story by Graham Greene. This is a story about the last Pope, John who was downfall move than twenty years earlier with the institution of new world government under General Megrim. The Pop is now a weak old man.
He has forgotten most of his past. Then the General’s officer arrests him because he is the last Pope. The General wants to finish what General Megrim haven’t done it yet. He offers him an opportunity to die with dignity “The last Christian. This is a moment of history”. The two men share a grass of win before the General is shoot him with a gun and John’s last word are “Corpus domini nostri…”.
