The moment of truth is the one of short story by Graham Greene. This is a story about the waiter who falling in love with the guest.
Arthur Burton is a waiter in the Kensington restaurant, which was called Chez Aguste. He falls in love with a guest, but she already gets marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Hogminster are the American couple, which very happy. Burton very closed to this couple because he always gives them an advice. Mrs. Hogminster is very attached to him. He is dreaming about her everyday. Later, Burton founds that he got cancer. He is depressing and feels lost. He is thinking more about Mrs. Hogminster.
Finally, he gets a letter from Mrs. Hogminister. He is very happy because he thought Mrs. Hogminister is caring about him. But the story is upside down, when he opens a letter and he found only coins about three one-pound and a note, which say thank you from Mrs. Dolly Hogminister.
